From nook looking at family room

Well there has been TONS of progress this first full week of framing. It's hard to believe how fast they can nail and screw boards together. So far every thing looks and feels great. It's just how we imagined it and it's fun to see it taking shape. On to the second floor!

1st Floor Down

1st floor screwed down

Some of the 1st floor lumber

The first floor got screwed down and the lumber for the first floor was delivered. It is fun to walk around on the floor and imagine how things will look and feel in a few months. Once they start the walls, the framer, Bear, and his crew are saying they should be able to have the roof on and windows in within 15 days!

Garage Slab & Underfloor

The garage slab is now poured and the underfloor framing is complete. We had a surprise inspection on Tuesday and weren't quite ready, but the inspector is returning tomorrow and should pass it this time. The floor system seems very nice and I'm happy with the height of the crawl space. I think there will be enough room to get around comfortably... well, as comfortable as a crawl space can be I guess. They plan to put the deck on by the end of the week and snap out the lines for the first floor walls so we can see and touch the real size of the rooms before they become real!
