Foundation Complete

The foundation walls were poured yesterday and today the forms came off. Everything looks real nice. We spent the evening raking up all the concrete chunks and rock from the inside so when I have to go down into the crawl space its not so bad to crawl around in on my knees. They back fill tomorrow. After that they will pour the garage slab and with any luck we'll see wood no later than Tuesday!

Omak Stampede

Suicide race hill - you'd have to be crazy to ride bareback down and across the river

Waiting for suicide race winner to enter the arena

We spent the weekend with Rikki's grandparents in Omak, Washington. They live in a nice, little log cabin and we had a great time with them. We slept outside under the stars in the back of '56 Chevy truck. We ate so much good food! We spent Saturday evening at the Omak Stampede for the rodeo and suicide race. Thanks to Rikki's local family connections we sat with her great uncle and aunt right above the bucking shoots. It was fun to watch them load the horses and bulls, sweat, snot, and all. The animals literally ran out of the arena right underneath our seats. Yeehaw!

Foundation Forms

Garage with family room behind it

The forms for the footings started today. Hopefully we'll see some concrete this week. It's still hard to picture how it will look, but we can start to get a good idea of the layout. We meet with the builder on Tuesday to pick out colors for the roof and gutters.
